R66 R44에서 파생된 R66은 외형은 R44와 비슷하게 2개의 블레이드로 구성된 메인 로터와 테일 로터, 고정 스키드 랜딩 기어를 갖춘 단일 엔진 헬리콥터다. 2007년에 발표된 R66은 로빈슨 헬리콥터 최초의 터빈 구동 버전이다. 벨 헬리콥터나 유로콥터가 제조한 중대형 헬리콥터와 경쟁할 수 있도록 제품 범위를 확장했다. 물론 그 기반은 초기 피스톤 엔진을 장착한 R44이다. 디지털 글래스 콕핏은 옵션이다. 5개의 좌석과 별도의 화물칸을 갖추고 있으며 롤스로이스 RR300 터보샤프트 엔진을 장착했다.
