@Blast From The Past: Space Shuttle Program

Enterprise was the first shuttle orbiter built for NASA performing test flights in the atmosphere and was incapable of spaceflight. Originally housed at the Smithsonian's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, Enterprise will be demated from the SCA and placed on a barge that will eventually be moved by tugboat up the Hudson River to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in June.

 

NASA 747 SCA(Shuttle Carrier Aircraft) 위에 탑재된 우주왕복선 엔터프라이즈호가 2012년 4월 27일 금요일 뉴욕 맨해튼 스카이라인을 배경으로 비행하고 있다. 엔터프라이즈호는 NASA가 대기권에서 테스트 비행을 수행하기 위해 제작한 최초의 왕복선(궤도선)으로 우주 비행은 불가능했다. 원래 스미소니언의 Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center에 보관되어 있던 엔터프라이즈호는 SCA에서 내린 후 바지선에 실려 6월에 허드슨 강 위로 예인선을 타고 최종적으로 인트레피드 바다, 항공 및 우주 박물관으로 옮겨지게 된다.
